The IMLCA actively reviews and provides comments to the NCAA regarding NCAA Bylaws and legislative proposals. During the 2010-11 academic year the IMLCA submitted recommendations to adjust the current Division I recruiting calendar. In the past, the IMLCA has successfully proposed the adoption of the recruiting calendars for Divisions I and II, successfully lobbied to override legislation that would have restricted coaches’ ownership in certain camps and tournaments.
Currently, the IMLCA is reviewing proposed Division II legislation that will be reviewed by the NCAA membership during the 2012 NCAA Convention pertaining to recruiting and contacts with prospective student-athletes. In addition, the IMLCA also is reviewing the current Division II recruiting calendar and how it might be adjusted to provide better quality of life standards for coaches.
